Senior/Lead Game Programmer

Since the start in Stockholm in 2010 our portfolio has grown to include 34 digital toys and a brand new video streaming service for kids. And soon we’ll be rolling out our first physical products.

As of 2016, Toca Boca is part of Spin Master, a global children’s entertainment company that creates, designs and manufactures a diversified portfolio of innovative toys, games, products and entertainment properties. Toca Boca has 99 employees that are based in Stockholm, New York, Toronto and San Francisco.

In order to be able to create more world class digital toys we're looking to expand our Production team in Stockholm with a passionate Senior/ Lead Game Developer. You will work in a small team together with play designers, artists and other programmers in producing new digital toys. You will take the lead in all programming and be responsible for the technical architecture in the team.

We're looking for a developer that:

  • Loves toys and games.
  • Has 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Has professional experience creating games.
  • Experienced in taking the lead in game programming, system architecture and technical vision.
  • Has 2+ years of experience working with Unity.
  • Is passionate about creating mobile games.
  • Can invite us to play a game that you've made, live in an app store.
  • Pays attention to details, is curious and takes pride in their work.
  • Is excited to engage and discuss with all disciplines of the team throughout the whole production.
  • Has the ability to identify the risks, dependencies, and priorities in a project.
  • Is an excellent team player focused on the overall team goal rather than individual tasks.
  • is fluent in written and spoken English.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop new apps in Unity where you’re responsible for the technical architecture, specification, timings and execution.
  • You are the go-to person for technical advice in any process and take an active role in educating others within you’re field.
  • You develop apps on a day-to-day basis by building products, tools, and prototypes as well as working with the artists and play designers on technical solutions.
  • You are responsible for the functionality and performance of the app.
